Dear Parents and Neighbors,
I am running for BHUSD School Board because I’m confident I can make a positive impact on the School District and community that has played a tremendous role in shaping my life.
The last two years have been difficult for everyone, particularly our children. As a mother of three students in Beverly Hills, one in preschool, elementary, and middle school, I share many of the unique struggles faced by parents. As an active member of the Hawthorne School Site Council, the BVMS PTA Executive Board and a concerned citizen, I have also been heavily involved in all aspects of our school and have continuously monitored the district’s response. My finger is on the pulse of our district, from academics to facilities.
I am confident that my unique understanding of the issues at hand, combined with my successful profession as a construction and real estate attorney managing complex transactions, delivers the professional and personal experience to navigate our schools toward excellence.

My Skill Set
I am a lifelong learner and relish all opportunities to sharpen my skills.
I am a practicing attorney since 2005. I excel in all aspects of law relating to construction contracts, development, and all other transactional business affairs. My approach is borne out of pragmatism, collaboration, and professionalism.
If elected trustee, my professional experience will translate immediately listening, understanding, and respecting the diverse views in our community. I am committed to our children and to operating with courtesy and respect. These are the hallmarks which engender community trust.
My Experience At a Glance
- Legal counsel to buyers, sellers, owners and developers in all aspects of business and real estate transactions, including business acquisitions and operations, real estate acquisitions and sales, construction, development and commercial leasing.
- Extensive experience in general corporate law, while representing buyers and sellers in all facets of corporate transactions, including conducting due diligence, drafting acquisition agreements and ancillary documents.
- Broad experience drafting, reviewing and negotiating retail, industrial, medical and office leases, purchase and sale agreements for improved and unimproved real estate, development agreements, reciprocal access and easement agreements, declarations for covenants, conditions and restrictions, promissory notes, deeds of trust, and other real estate contracts.
- Oversee and engage in all aspects of real estate and construction due diligence, such as review of title reports, title insurance policies, and analysis ALTA surveys and environmental site assessments.
- Established a professional affiliation and partnership with The Law Offices of Murray D. Fischer, Esq., a real estate, construction and land use expert with nearly 50 years of legal practice.
- Working with a close-knit and dedicated team of professionals known for excelling at client service, to provide a practical approach in offering both legal and business advice to ensure their goals are met and the deal gets done.
- Transacted over $300 million worth of acquisitions, development and construction of real estate and business dealings.
A Vision for Excellence
My vision is to ensure the Beverly Hills Unified School District is a system of world-class schools, pursuing excellence for each student and educating all students to high standards, as measured by a valid, reliable accountability system, with modern, quality facilities and programs.
Elevating academic rigor and student programs to compete with the nation’s top schools. There is no reason our district can’t compete academically with other top nationwide private and public schools. We have the best teachers in the country, advanced technology, and vested administration. My goal is to work together with our teachers, parents, and administration to identify areas for improvement and to empower them with resources and tools needed to provide first-class education.
There is no question the community has been frustrated with the time-line of construction. I am committed to tighten supervision, transparency and accountability of construction projects, expediting timelines with current students in mind. My real estate and construction legal background delivers invaluable insight and support to our current board.
Let’s get our children off the virtual world of tablets and smart phones by providing them with fun, age-appropriate programs and activities. I will continue to support our amazing PTA and help build a stronger relationship with the city to deliver out of the box programs and support. We need to advance the mental and physical health of our students in the post-pandemic era.
BHUSD is a community of amazing teachers, staff, and administrators. Our teachers inspire our children to think. Teaching is the one profession that creates all other professions. We must collaborate because education breeds confidence and confidence is hope. I will work with parents and teachers side by side to create a mutually beneficial, safe, and positive environment.
The collective community reputation begins with the quality of its public education. A public education is there at the beginning, during failures, and after successes. I won’t give up on building bridges with City officials, vendors, and the community. We are all in this together.
A successful education incorporates not just academic learning, but also provides guidance on difficult topics. We must prioritize the continued security of our district community. Security necessarily includes continued programs created to address mental health issues and substance abuse.
